Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to travel. Additionally, keep in mind that discounted partner fares may not earn miles with US-based carriers.

Wow Air is a newer discount carrier flying between several US cities and Iceland. Right now, the airline is offering great prices from Newark (EWR), Boston (BOS) and Washington (BWI) to Paris, priced at $299, $338 and $400 round-trip, respectively. Keep in mind, though, that Wow is a budget airline, so you'll have to pay extra fees for things like checked bags or choosing a seat, but there's still plenty of room for savings. Wow just doubled its cabin bag allowance to 22 lbs., so it might be more possible to avoid some of those fees now.

This deal is available for dates from November through January of 2017, with dates in earlier or later months being slightly more expensive. Additionally, Wow's prices do appear in Google Flights even though it's a budget airline, so be sure to take advantage of that tool when searching for flights.

While Wow is often one of the most cost-effective ways to get to Iceland and the other destinations it serves, you might not have as comfortable experience as other carriers' products. If you're familiar with the airline and all of its rules, you should be fine, but flying on another carrier could be worth a consideration.

Wow often offers discounted fares to Iceland from the US, so if you can't book now, there will probably be another opportunity down the line. For more information, check out our Wow air flight review. And to get an idea about what you should do once you arrive, see our $99-Fare Guide to Iceland.

Maximize Your Purchase

Don't forget to use a credit card that earns additional points on airfare purchases, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve, American Express Premier Rewards Gold or Citi Prestige (3x on airfare) or the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2x on all travel purchases).
