Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using the American Express Platinum Card, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

JetBlue has shared the details of another flash sale for international and domestic destinations, with prices starting from just $28 one-way or $56 round-trip. This can be a great way to use some JetBlue TrueBlue points, since redeeming points with the airline is based on the cost of the ticket. Discounted flights are available from most US airports, with decent availability for the routes we've previewed here. The carrier has included many transcon fares in the sale as well, like New York (JFK) to Oakland (OAK) for just $188 round-trip. These discounted flights are valid for departures from January 17 through March 8, 2017 with blackout dates from February 17 through February 26. Be sure to book quickly, as this sale ends tomorrow night (January 5) at 11:59pm ET.
