Deal alert: Get up to 40% off British Airways economy award flights to Europe
British Airways Club just announced a potentially generous redemption sale offering up to 40% off the Avios cost of World Traveller economy-class redemptions between the U.S. and Europe via London.
Note that the fees, taxes and surcharges required are not discounted; however, with British Airways' Reward Flight Saver redemptions, you can reduce the cash payment required to very reasonable levels.
Unfortunately, finding these discounts isn't straightforward, as they are not clearly marked, so you'll have to do a bit of digging, but it could be well worth it to save thousands of Avios on your next trip to Europe.
Here's what you need to know to fly to Europe for as little as 15,000 Avios each way.

Sample flights

Unfortunately, British Airways does not indicate which flights are discounted, nor what the discount is when you search for flights within the offer period. The carrier also uses peak and off-peak pricing, further complicating the pricing and potential discounts.
The best way to see what discount you might receive is to compare the same flights on dates outside of the sale period, such as for travel after Feb. 11, 2026.
Here are some discounted rates we found for travel on off-peak dates:
- New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to LHR: 30,000 Avios plus 100 British pounds ($134) round-trip (reduced from 50,000 Avios)
- Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, D.C., to Edinburgh Airport (EDI) in Scotland via LHR: 35,000 Avios plus 100 British pounds ($134) round-trip (reduced from 55,000 Avios)
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to LHR: 42,000 Avios plus 150 British pounds ($201) round-trip (reduced from 70,000 Avios)
- Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to LHR: 50,000 Avios plus 100 British pounds ($134) round-trip (reduced from 70,000 Avios)
- Miami International Airport (MIA) to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) via LHR: 53,100 Avios plus 151 British pounds ($202) round-trip (reduced from 89,500 Avios)
- Denver International Airport (DEN) to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) via LHR: 53,100 Avios plus 151 British pounds ($202) round-trip (reduced from 79,000 Avios)
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) via LHR: 59,100 Avios plus 151 British pounds ($202) round-trip (reduced from 90,500 Avios)
- Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to LHR: 60,000 Avios plus 150 British pounds ($201) round-trip (reduced from 70,000 Avios)
- San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Athens International Airport (ATH) in Greece via LHR: 72,500 Avios plus 151 British pounds ($202) round-trip (reduced from 95,500 Avios)

As British Airways Club prices Avios redemptions per flight, you'll get the best value from this offer from nonstop flights to London operated by British Airways.
Should you need to top off your Avios in your British Airways Club account, you can transfer points and miles from most transferable currencies:
You can also transfer Avios between your Aer Lingus AerClub, Finnair Plus, Club Iberia, Loganair Loyalty, Qatar Airways Privilege Club and British Airways Club accounts.

Maximize your purchase
Don't forget to use a credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases to cover your taxes and fees, such as:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees): Earn 2 points per dollar spent on travel.
- American Express® Gold Card: Earn 3 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through amextravel.com.
- The Platinum Card® from American Express: Earn 5 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel® (on up to $500,000 of these purchases per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar).
- Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees): Earn 4 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline.
- Citi Strata Premier® Card (see rates and fees): Earn 3 points per dollar spent on air travel.
Bottom line
This is a great way to save thousands of Avios on your next economy-class flight to and from the U.K. or on to Europe.
Economy redemptions are often a poor value way to redeem Avios, so it's good to see these prices substantially discounted in this offer.
It is frustrating that British Airways does not advise exactly which routes are included, show which flights are discounted or show the amount of the discount, which could be anywhere from 0% to 40% off.
If you are looking to travel to London and beyond between Aug. 1, 2025, and Feb. 11, 2026, it is worth playing around with availability inside and outside these dates to see how large of an Avios discount you can score.
These flights are only discounted for bookings made until July 23, so don't wait to save up to 40%.
