Quick summary
Chicago O'Hare International Airport offers 15 airline-affiliated lounges across four terminals, serving both domestic and international travelers.
United Clubs and the upscale Polaris lounge are concentrated in Terminals 1 and 2, with amenities like full-service bars, buffets, workspaces and wellness rooms; the Polaris lounge is currently closed for expansion.
Terminal 3 features multiple Admirals Clubs and a Flagship Lounge, with the latter providing enhanced food, fewer crowds and shower facilities.
Terminal 5 houses a spacious Delta Sky Club, notable for its extensive seating, buffet, showers and even two boarding gates.
What to consider
Lounge access requirements vary by airline, ticket class, elite status and paid options, with stricter entry for premium lounges like Polaris and Flagship.
Some lounges, such as the Polaris, are temporarily closed for renovations, which may affect availability.
Annual and day-pass pricing, guest policies and eligibility rules differ by program and may change over time.

A detailed comparison of lounge features, access policies and tips for choosing the best lounge for your travel needs at O'Hare.

Chicago’s largest airport, O’Hare International Airport(ORD), continues to break passenger number records, and the airport's lounge game is getting better. While there's still no Centurion Lounge, it's making progress nonetheless.
Flyers can choose from 15 airline-affiliated lounges across four terminals on both the departures and arrivals sides to accommodate domestic and international flights.
Not all lounges are created equal, though — so we've compiled a list of our favorite lounges at O'Hare.
United Clubs and Polaris lounges in Terminals 1 and 2: At a glance
Where are the United Clubs and the Polaris lounge?
There are three United Clubs in Terminal 1, specifically near gates B6, B18 and C10. There’s a fourth United Club in Terminal 2, across from Gate F9 and there's now a fifth United Club now in Terminal 2, Concourse E, near gate E7. Many of the United lounges are open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, though the newest Concourse E lounge (a former Delta lounge) is open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily.
Meanwhile, the Polaris lounge is in Terminal 1 by gate C18 and normally opens at 6 a.m. daily, though it is currently closed for a big expansion.
What is it like inside the United Clubs and Polaris lounge?
The five United Clubs are relatively similar, but the main differences are in the square footage, design and level of renovation.
Four of the five United Clubs have a full-service bar with beer, wine, liquor and nonalcoholic offerings; at least one buffet with hot and cold food; light snacks; a coffee bar; a freestyle Coca-Cola machine; and filtered water. Lounge menus rotate quarterly, incorporating seasonal elements. Automated robot trash collectors collect dishes and trash for customers.
Even in the smaller lounges, guests can enjoy workspaces, including collective group areas as well as individual seating spaces with plenty of chairs and outlets.
Most clubs have at least four premium service reps in each club per shift.
O'Hare's various United Clubs
Located by gate C10 in Terminal 1, one of the newest United Clubs opened in January 2023 and thus reflects the brand's club redesign with bright, modern and industrial features.
Highlights of this club include a wellness room for parents, a QR-based customer service assistance method and a brightly colored jet bridge outside with views from many floor-to-ceiling windows. The 17,000-square-foot room has 400 seats, so it's unlikely to feel overcrowded.

The club near gate B6 is actually larger than the one by C10, at 19,000 square feet and more than 475 seats. It has two hot plate bars and four customer service agents. Additionally, it's very bright (thanks to artificial and natural light), airy and open.

You'll find many Lufthansa and ANA flyers in the United Club near B18, as many international flights depart from nearby gates. Of note are the club's private phone room and two buffets. Given that it's the smallest club at ORD — with just over 10,000 square feet and roughly 120 seats — it's also a good lounge for lounge newbies to dip their toes in.

Another club at Gate F9 also has two buffet options. It is 12,500 square feet and has more than 230 seats.
The newest United Club is in Terminal 2 near Gate E7. It's not the fanciest United Club, but it does have a self-service bar.

The more upscale Polaris lounge at O'Hare is situated across from the duty-free store and gate C18. It is accessible to international customers traveling in United Polaris and premium Star Alliance cabins.
It's currently closed for expansion and remodeling — but once it reopens, we expect it to be larger and more fabulous.
The first Polaris lounge in the country, it's marked by its distinctive massive chandelier, in which every ball represents a city street in Chicago.

Some of the lounge's most luxurious features include the first-come, first-served showers and private shaded daybeds, where you can sleep for an hour on 145-degree heated Saks Fifth Avenue linens. If you need a longer rest — perhaps due to an international layover — you can extend your time in bed pending availability.
A seasonally rotating, locally inspired menu served on an island with an adjacent buffet line and individual dining room for a la carte service means there's likely something to fit most dietary needs. There's also a full-service bar.

There are six shower suites available (including one Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant shower) that provide loungers, slippers, Therabody products and other amenities. Permanent pressing laundry services — specifically shirts, pants and sweaters — are available for quick freshening up within five to 10 minutes.
How to access the United Clubs and Polaris lounges
United Club℠ Card (see rates and fees) cardholders ($695 annual fee) receive unlimited United Club access for themselves and a guest. If you reach premier Gold status or spend 50,000 on purchases per calendar year, you get up to two guests per visit. The United℠ Explorer Card (see rates and fees) includes two single-use United Club passes yearly.
United is now offering two tiers of club membership, Individual and All-Access, as it recently overhauled its access rules.

Select Premier members can also access the United Club. Specifically, United Premier Gold (and higher) members can access the carrier's lounges when traveling internationally on any Star Alliance carrier, regardless of their class of service. They can also bring one guest departing on a Star Alliance carrier from the same airport. Star Alliance Gold members who hold status with another partner airline can use the United Club with any same-day Star Alliance boarding pass, including during domestic United travel.
Those who don't hold cards or have status can purchase a day pass for $59 in the club or via the United mobile app (though it's no longer good for grab-and-go clubs).
When it reopens, the Polaris lounge will again be accessible to travelers in United Polaris business class (no guests) as well as those in Star Alliance first class (one guest) and business class (no guests).
Admirals Club and Flagship Lounges in Terminal 3: At a glance
View of American Airlines jet from the Chicago Flagship Lounge. CLINT HENDERSON/THE POINTS GUY
Where are the American Airlines Admirals Clubs and Flagship Lounges?
There are three American Airlines Admirals Clubs and one American Airlines Flagship Lounge in Terminal 3. Two Admirals Clubs are past security across from gate G8 and before gate L1. Meanwhile, the Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge can be found after security in the crosswalk between gates H6 and K6.
What is it like inside the American Airlines Admirals Clubs and Flagship Lounge?
None of the American Airlines lounges will change your life when it comes to lounge visits, but they do offer pretty much all the basics. In our experience, there is usually room to sit down and grab a bite to eat no matter which lounge you enjoy, though there is more space in the Flagship Lounge.
Overall, the Flagship Lounge makes for a better experience, though entry requirements are more stringent.
O'Hare's Admirals Clubs
In the regular Admirals Clubs, the food and drink selection is basic, but you won't go hungry with a selection of cold cuts, soups and other snacks. Water, coffee, tea and soft drinks are self-serve, though there is a full bar with a bartender at each location.

How to access the American Airlines Clubs and Flagship Lounge
CLINT HENDERSON/THE POINTS GUY
In most cases, to access Admirals Club, you'll need to present a same-day American, Alaska Airlines or other Oneworld carrier flight boarding pass (some lifetime memberships don't require a same-day boarding pass).
Those with the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Legend Mastercard® (see rates and fees) receive complimentary Admirals Club access, as do Concierge Key members. You can also access the clubs by holding an eligible premium ticket, specifically business- and first-class tickets on international American- or Oneworld-operated flights.
To access the Flagship Lounge, you'll need to be Concierge Key or be traveling in Flagship First on an international flight.
Oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status through American AAdvantage (via Platinum, Platinum Pro and Executive Platinum status) or the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan (via MVP Gold, 75K and 100K status) also enables you and a guest to access Admirals Clubs or Flagship Lounges on qualifying international itineraries operated by American or a Oneworld partner — even in economy class.
If you are a member with Oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status via a program other than AAdvantage or Mileage Plan (like British Airways Gold status), you and a guest can access an Admirals Club or Flagship Lounge when traveling on American or another Oneworld carrier for domestic itineraries as well.
Otherwise, you can pay for access in a variety of ways.
A one-day pass is $79 or 7,900 miles. (We do not recommend this based on TPG's valuation of American miles.)
Annual individual and household memberships cost between $700 and $1,650, depending on your status level and whether you are renewing an existing membership or buying a new one.
Note that memberships and day passes are only for Admirals Clubs, not Flagship Lounges.
Delta Sky Club at Terminal 5
CLINT HENDERSON/THE POINTS GUY
Where is the Delta Sky Club?
The Delta Sky Club is after security between gates M11 and M14. It's open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., except for Saturday, when it closes at 6 p.m.
What is it like inside the Delta Sky Club?
The O'Hare Delta Sky Club is one of our favorites in the system. This lounge measures more than 22,000 square feet and offers a variety of seating areas.
The Sky Club has a full-service bar with beer, wine, liquor and nonalcoholic offerings. It also has a large buffet with hot and cold choices, and several coffee stations with espresso machines or hot drip coffee and tea.
There are two full bars and areas for watching TV, planespotting or working. During our visits, it has never felt crowded.

Not only are there great views of the airport and Delta jets, but there's even a Chicago-style hot dog vendor.
By far the best feature of this club is that it also has two boarding gates. One is used for flights to its hub at New York City's LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and the other is for international Delta partners like Air France.

How to access the Delta Sky Club
CLINT HENDERSON/THE POINTS GUY
There are a variety of ways to get into the Delta Sky Club.
Some premium cards provide complimentary lounge access, and there are also various paid options to enter a Sky Club — as long as you're not flying basic economy.
As of Feb. 1, Delta has capped yearly Sky Club visits (Feb. 1 to Jan. 31) at 10 visits for Amex Platinum and Amex Business Platinum and 15 for Delta Reserve Amex and Delta Reserve Business Amex cardholders.
There are also a variety of paid options for entering a Sky Club, as long as you are not flying basic economy.
Delta Reserve cardholders on Delta partner airline flights can pay $50 per visit, while elite status members can pay cash or SkyMiles — specifically $695 or 69,500 SkyMiles (individual membership) or $1,495 or 149,500 SkyMiles (executive membership) annually.
There are various ways for Delta SkyMiles elite members to access SkyClubs. For example, Diamond and Platinum Medallion members can select Choice Benefits each Medallion year for access. Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion members can also access lounges when traveling in Premium Select or Delta One seats on a same-day international itinerary.
Premium cabin tickets can also yield lounge access: domestic and international Delta One passengers and those flying on a same-day international first-class or business-class ticket on a SkyTeam-operated flight (confirmed in business class or first class for every segment of the ticket) get Sky Club lounge access regardless of elite status or membership.
Lastly, SkyTeam Elite Plus members from other airlines can access Delta Sky Club lounges when traveling on a SkyTeam international flight (excluding between the U.S. and the Caribbean) or a SkyTeam domestic flight connecting to or from a SkyTeam international flight.
