We're Giving Away 20 Southwest Companion Passes This Week

There's no doubt that Southwest's Companion Pass is one of the most well known and lucrative airline perks in the industry. We've been talking up the advantages of the Companion Pass for years now and the different ways in which you can qualify.

For those not familiar, the perk allows the Companion Pass holder to select a friend or family member and add them to any reservation — either a revenue or award ticket — for the small cost of the government imposed taxes and fees. Once you qualify, you'll get the perk for the remainder of the year in which you earned it, as well as the following full calendar year. As you can see, if used to its full potential, this is an extremely valuable perk. Normally, of course, you have to qualify for this pass — by either flying 100 qualifying one-way flights or earning 110,000 qualifying points in a calendar year, but we are going to make it much easier for 20 lucky readers.

This week, Southwest and Chase are celebrating 20 years of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card. The cultures of the two companies have always been aligned on strong customer service and making it easier for customers to reap rewards. To celebrate the anniversary, TPG is partnering with the Southwest and Chase to give away 20 companion passes. Each day this week (today through Friday) TPG will give away four Southwest Companion Passes on a different social media platform. The companion passes will be valid through December 31, 2017.

Monday, October 31 — Instagram

Post an image from a destination that Southwest flies to using #TPGCompanion and #RapidRewardsCard on Instagram. We'll randomly select four entries by end of day (11:59pm ET) and announce the winners in a post the following week.

Tuesday, November 1 — Twitter

Tweet us who you would name as your Southwest Companion using #TPGCompanion and #RapidRewardsCard. We'll randomly select four entries by end of day (11:59pm ET) and announce the winners in a post the following week.

Wednesday, November 2 — Facebook

Share a picture on Facebook and tell us your best Southwest tip using #TPGCompanion and #RapidRewardsCard. We'll randomly select four entries by end of day (11:59pm ET) and announce the winners in a post the following week. (Make sure your account — or the picture — is set to Public so we'll be able to see it.)

Thursday, November 3 — Snapchat

Send a snap to The Points Guy describing your favorite Southwest route and tag it #TPGCompanion and #RapidRewardsCard. We'll randomly select four entries by end of day (11:59pm ET) and announce the winners in a post the following week.

Friday, November 4 — Facebook Live 4pm ET.
