IHG Releases PointBreaks List for January 25 – April 30

IHG has released its latest list of PointBreaks hotels for January 25 – April 30, 2016 — and all of the more than 150 properties are available to book beginning today, January 25.
IHG PointBreaks are reduced award redemptions at IHG hotels — like InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn — that require just 5,000 Rewards Club points for a free night. The properties change every few months, and although some of them are in fairly mundane destinations, there are a few that are really worth checking out.
Some of the properties included in this round of PointBreaks offer tremendous value, especially for Crowne Plaza properties, which normally require between 20,000 and 50,000 IHG Rewards points per night. In the past, there have been InterContinental properties on the PointsBreak list that offered exceptional value — unfortunately, there don't appear to be any InterContinental properties listed this time around. As usual, many Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites properties are located in places that aren't particularly appealing, but if they match up with your travel plans, they could be worth the 5,000-point redemption. These three deserve some extra attention:
Crowne Plaza Greater Noida: Located in Greater Noida, India, about an hour outside New Delhi. Nights at the Crowne Plaza Greater Noida normally go for 30,000 IHG Rewards points per night.
Holiday Inn Bursa: Located in Bursa, Turkey, across the Sea of Marmara from Istanbul (a two-hour ferry or nearly four-hour drive). Rates normally go for 15,000 IHG Rewards points per night.
Crowne Plaza Chicago-Northbrook: Located one mile from Metra and a 15-minute drive from O'Hare International Airport (ORD), the hotel is also close to the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Allstate Arena, among other attractions. Rooms here normally go for 20,000 IHG Rewards points per night.

If you want to take advantage of these PointBreaks deals but don't have enough IHG Rewards points, don't forget that IHG is a 1:1 transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards. You can transfer points from cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Ink Plus, but don't forget that points can take one day to transfer. You can also earn 60,000 IHG Rewards points after spending $1,000 in the first three months of account opening with the IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card.
Because of limited availability and high demand it's best to book any of these PointBreaks properties as soon as possible, but remember that IHG limits the number of stays members can book with PointBreaks to two reservations per hotel during the given time period.
