Great news for non-SkyTeam flyers: Another foreign carrier has a status match opportunity for you this month. Earlier this year, Oneworld partner AirBerlin offered a status match to SkyTeam, Star Alliance and other elites, including perks like lounge access and priority lines on American Airlines flights.

Alitalia is the the latest airline to get in on the status matching game, offering loyalty perks at all three levels of its MilleMiglia program. To apply, simply send an email to StatusMatchMilleMiglia@alitalia.com by January 31, 2016 with your full name, MilleMiglia code and a legible copy of your frequent flyer card.

Earn status with Alitalia through this match promotion.

The airline says that your elite status will become effective eight business days after your email is received and will last until March 31, 2016. If your existing status extends beyond this date, your MilleMiglia status will be valid until March 31, 2017. Moreover, this offer extends beyond just Oneworld and Star Alliance competitors, so you could also earn the match with carriers that aren't part of a formal alliance, such as Alaska Airlines.

Overall, this is a great opportunity to gain status with a SkyTeam parter if you're already elite on another airline — depending on which tier you qualify for, you could also have access to perks such as lounge access on other carriers like Delta or Air France. If you don't already possess status with an airline, there are plenty of opportunities to get on the fast track this year.
