We're just two months into the year, and we're already planning trips to visit some of the most exciting hotel openings of 2025. If Costa Rica is on your must-visit list this year, start counting your Hilton Honors points: The Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique is now taking reservations.
The first Waldorf Astoria in Costa Rica, this shiny new resort will welcome guests starting May 1.
The property is just 17 miles from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR), the main hub for flights into the resort-filled Guanacaste province. Guests can take their pick from 148 guest rooms and 40 suites that include free-standing soaking tubs in the outdoor space, rainfall showerheads and 65-inch TVs. Want even more? Splurge for a room with a plunge pool or a two- or three-bedroom villa.
Like all Waldorf Astoria properties, this hotel will feature the brand's iconic Peacock Alley bar, alongside La Finca, the signature restaurant with seasonal dishes; Tico Tica, an all-day restaurant serving locally inspired meals; and various pool bars, casual cafes and wellness-focused spots.
Fun will be found throughout this family-friendly resort that is going to offer both a kids center and a teens club, though you might have to drag your crew away from the multilevel pool dominating the lower part of the resort that sits on the side of a 300-foot cliff. But if you can get them away, a secluded beach awaits at the bottom.
Other highlights of this exciting new hotel include the Waldorf Astoria Spa, a top-notch gym and fitness center, a salon, paddleboarding, boating, and taking advantage of all the cultural richness and natural beauty Guanacaste has to offer.

How to book the Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique
Reservations are now open for stays from May 1 on. Rates start around $1,369 per night, though most are over $1,500. Award availability can be found from 120,000 Hilton Honors points per night.
