From an annual $250 airfare credit to generous flight delay perks to Priority Pass lounge access, the Citi Prestige Card offers a bunch of great benefits (in exchange for its significant $450 annual fee). But for frequent leisure travelers, one program in particular offers outstanding value: 4th Night Free.

I've used this benefit to save many thousands of dollars over the years, and while it's recently become a bit less rewarding, since Citi no longer includes taxes when calculating your rebate, it's now possible to book these stays online — and receive the 4th Night Free credit in the form of an instant discount.

I consider this to be hands-down my favorite credit card (of the 40 or so in my wallet), specifically due to the 4th Night Free perk. So I was initially hesitant to go too crazy when it came to pushing the limits of this benefit; I didn't want to "ruin it for everyone else," so to speak. It turns out there's no cause for concern, though — Citi seems to be especially proud of its large payouts, going so far as to promote that fact that one cardholder scored a $4,554 rebate from a single stay in 2016. Wowzah!

But it gets even better than that — it turns out one cardholder managed to score more than twice that amount last year, from a single hotel stay. Citi sent us its list of top 10 4th Night Free redemptions so far from 2017, and it's incredible to see just how much some cardholders have saved (and spent)!

So without further ado, here's the list.

10. Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort

A sweet suite bathroom. Image courtesy of Jumby Bay.

A member of the smaller (and high-end) Rosewood chain, Jumby Bay is located on a private island in St. John's. You'll need to take a boat from your arrival airport in Antigua, but apparently it's worth the effort for the island's car-free (and decidedly carefree) lifestyle. Jumby Bay bills itself as "the finest resort in the Caribbean," and it certainly has the price tag to match.

Location: St. Johns, Antigua and Barbuda
Base room award rate: N/A
Room type booked: One-Bedroom Pool Suite
4th night credit: $3,684

9. Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London

A One-Bedroom Deluxe Park Suite. Image courtesy of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London.

Mandarin Oriental's Hyde Park property in London appears twice on this list — that's quite an accomplishment, in this case due to the hotel's exceptionally pricey rooms and suites. It's in the midst of an 18-month renovation, though naturally the chain aims to avoid disturbing its guests during the overhaul. Should you come across any unwanted dust or construction noise, perhaps you can rest easy knowing you're getting a solid 25% discount (before taxes) thanks to Citi Prestige's 4th Night Free.

8. Amanyara

TPG actually visited this hotel recently, and while he didn't pay anywhere close to $3,752 per night, it still cost a pretty penny. I actually scored a (relative) deal at Amanpulo in the Philippines thanks to this same benefit, so between TPG, me and our mystery One-Bedroom Pool Pavilion guest, at least three (and likely many more) Citi Prestige cardholders have used their credits at Aman hotels.

Location: Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
Base room award rate: N/A
Room type booked: One-Bedroom Pool Pavilion
4th night credit: $3,752

7. Hotel Pitrizza, a Luxury Collection Hotel

This unique Starwood property in Italy is only open in the summer months, with the last bookable night being September 30. A base room, which measures just 226 square feet, is available with rates ranging from $440 to a whopping $1,650, including a 10% tax. On some dates, even a relatively small 753-square-foot suite will run you $7,000 per night, so it's no surprise to see this property make the list.

Location: Porto Cervo, Italy
Base room award rate: 60,000-140,000 (SPG Starpoints)
Room type booked: Two-Bedroom Residence Private Pool
4th night credit: $3,906

6. Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London

It's back! And for the same room type, to boot. The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is clearly a favorite among deep-pocketed Prestige cardholders, perhaps due to its ideal location, within walking distance a number of London's top tourist spots.

Location: London, UK
Base room award rate: N/A
Room type booked: One-Bedroom Deluxe Park Suite
4th night credit: $4,052

5. Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages

Sandals' family-friendly Beaches brand may not come to mind as an uber-luxe option, but clearly some of the Turks & Caicos resort's rooms hit the mark on price. The resort is all-inclusive, which means your 4th Night Free credit (or discount, if booked online) covers not only accommodations, but also food, alcoholic beverages and activities — including some involving Sesame Street characters.

Location: Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
Base room award rate: N/A (Sandals points may be used to cover expenses)
Room type booked: Ocean-View Four-Bedroom Butler Villa Residence
4th night credit: $4,456

4. Cheval Blanc St.-Barth Isle De France

Located on one of the Caribbean's most exclusive and appealing islands, St. Barth, Cheval Blanc is a picture of perfection, at least based on the website's exceptional photography — I'm not sure I'll ever get to visit in person. Base rooms can be had for a slightly more affordable $800+, but naturally the most spacious accommodations will really cost you, such as the 2-Bedroom Beach Suite (with private terrace and infinity pool) our mystery cardholder booked with Citi Prestige.

Location: Baie Des Flamands, France
Base room award rate: N/A
Room type booked: Two-Bedroom Beach Suite With Jacuzzi
4th night credit: $4,688

3. The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort

Topping many a bucket list, Bora Bora is one of the priciest destinations you can visit. Fortunately it can be done on points (a lot of points), but if paid stays are more your cup of tea, there's no better way to take advantage of Citi's 4th Night Free perk. The St. Regis is definitely somewhere I'd like to visit, with its iconic thatched-roof overwater bungalows — though perhaps I should have visited before checking out the hotel's brand-new sister property in the Maldives, my new favorite resort.

Location: Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Base room award rate: 90,000 (SPG Starpoints)
Room type booked: Two-Bedroom Overwater Royal Pool Villa
4th night credit: $5,487

2. L'Horizon Resort & Spa Palm Springs

Image courtesy of L’Horizon Resort & Spa Palm Springs.

We knew Palm Springs is pricey — but expensive enough to rank near the top of this most-exclusive list? If there's a hotel that fits the bill there, it's L'Horizon. This property dates back to the 1950s, when it catered to Hollywood elite and the country's top politicians, including some US presidents. It's an adults-only resort — guests under 21 are not allowed — which likely only contributes to the hotel's appeal.

Location: Palm Springs, CA
Base room award rate: N/A
Room type booked: Two-Bedroom Residence With Private Pool
4th night credit: $5,675

1. Capella Singapore

Located on Singapore's up and coming Sentosa Island resort, the Capella is definitely geared toward leisure travelers — after all, even the most liberal corporate accountants would find it hard to justify a $600+ nightly expense in a city where five-star hotels can be had for a couple hundred dollars a night. Honeymooners and locals looking for a high-end weekend getaway could find this hotel worth the splurge, though paying for three nights is undoubtedly quite a commitment — even when you're getting the fourth for free.

Location: Singapore
Base room award rate: N/A
Room type booked: Three-Bedroom Contemporary Manor With Pool
4th night credit: $9,616

Bottom Line

I'm still a bit amazed that I pulled off a $1,490 Citi Prestige rebate, but based on the bookings above, I wouldn't be surprised if that sky-high award doesn't even rank on Citi's list of the top 100 4th Night Free credits. I'll continue to use my hotel points (primarily banked with Starwood, Marriott and Hyatt) whenever possible, but for readers with the means to pull it off, this list definitely offers up some quality inspiration.

What's the largest 4th Night Free credit you've received from Citi Prestige?
