Priority Pass is adding another lounge to its network, which will help it increase its US presence. If you have a membership to the lounge network, you can now access the PGA MSP Lounge at Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP).
This news come after Priority Pass lost the Escape lounge at MSP on June 14, which was its only lounge at the airport. Although, if you particularly enjoy that lounge, American Express Platinum (personal and business) cardholders still have access to other Escape lounges throughout the country.
The PGA Lounge, located in MSP's terminal 1, is quite unique in its offerings. Not only does it have the normal entrapments of a lounge like comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi and refreshments, but it also offers a complete golf experience with your choice of lessons, a simulator, driving range and putting green.
Your Priority Pass membership gets you three hours of lounge access as well as a $15 credit that can be applied towards a golf experience or food items at the on-site restaurant. And if your membership allows guests, they'll also receive that $15 credit, though credits can't be combined. You'll have to pay to take a lesson and to use the golf simulator or driving range, but you can use the putting green for free. You can also get fitted for new golf clubs or pick up some new gear at the pro shop.
The $15 credit won't go terribly far at either of the restaurant or the golf simulator, but it's great that Priority Pass has made a bit of a comeback at MSP after losing the well-regarded Escape lounge.
Many credit cards offer complimentary Priority Pass memberships like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, The Platinum Card from American Express, Citi Prestige and The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card. The lounge is open from 7:00am to 8:00pm Monday through Friday and 8:00am to 7:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
