Park Hyatt is coming to a sky-high location in Malaysia next year
A Park Hyatt in the works for Malaysia's capital city is slated to occupy the top floors of the tallest building in Southeast Asia.
The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, which will debut sometime in the spring of 2025, is set to open atop Merdeka 118, a 2,227-foot tower that opened earlier this year. Details are scarce for now on the ultraluxury hotel (at least from Hyatt directly), but the event platform Cvent indicates there will be more than 250 guest rooms as well as a spa and meeting space.
The Park Hyatt's Instagram page indicates the spa will offer "signature treatments, indigenous techniques and products, and local art and design." The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur website shows renderings of an indoor swimming pool with uninterrupted views of the surrounding city. Having a splish and a splash in the sky is never a bad idea, we say.

Guests will also be able to enjoy lounge, bar and restaurant space (as well as Park Hyatt mainstay offerings like the Living Room and Dining Room concepts). The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur's upcoming culinary program will be overseen by Executive Chef Stig Drageide and Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh, according to The Malaysian Reserve.
World of Hyatt points rates aren't yet available, but you'll find me — a noted Catherine Zeta-Jones fan — eager to check in. Zeta-Jones starred in "Entrapment," a crime thriller that used the nearby Petronas Towers — the tallest buildings in Malaysia until 2019 — as a key plot point and backdrop.
The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will almost certainly be a more luxurious and sky-high experience than the bank heist depicted in "Entrapment" — with perhaps the only criminal thing here being that moment when you must check out and go home.
