The new Hyatt promo was leaked today and to my disappointment, they won't be running a faster free nights promotion, like they have in past years (1 free night for every 2 stays).

Instead, they are running "The Great 10k" where you get 10k bonus points for every 5 nights.

That means you need to stay 11 nights to get 1 free night at a top property- much less generous than FFN.

It seems that all the hotel chains have watered down end of year promos. Kudos to them since they must see stronger bookings.

However, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come! I'm on the fence with this Hyatt promo. I think I'd rather have triple Starwood points since they are more valuable and can be transferred to airlines at much better ratios.

However, if Hyatt also offers me double stays towards elite status, that would probably be enough to convince me to go for Hyatt Diamond again, since I've just about requalified for SPG Platinum.
