London's luxe new Mandarin Oriental is finally open
London's already excellent hotel scene just got even better: The highly anticipated Mandarin Oriental London, Mayfair, one of TPG's most exciting hotel openings of 2024, is officially open.
Located in the ultra-posh neighborhood of Mayfair, right on Hanover Square, the hotel features an intimate 50 guest rooms and 77 residences. Each space is adorned with a sophisticated yet slightly playful floral motif on the walls (handpainted de Gournay wallpaper, to be specific) and carpets, neutral cream and beige accents and floor-to-ceiling windows to let in plenty of natural light.

Accommodations range from a 355-square-foot Deluxe Room to the 1,517-square-foot Mayfair Suite, which feels regal enough for the royals who live just blocks away. For even more space, choose from the different connecting room types and various midsize suites.
All rooms include amenities like Natura Bisse bathroom products, Dyson hair dryers, Good Hair Day straighteners, Nespresso coffee machines, bathrobes and kimonos, yoga mats and Bluetooth speakers.

Food is serious business at this Mandarin Oriental. The restaurants and bars at the brand's second London property are overseen by famed Korean chef Akira Back. Dining options include Back's eponymous Japanese-Korean restaurant, open for three meals daily; a soon-to-open Korean chef's table experience called Dosa; and two bar concepts, ABar Lounge and ABar Rooftop (opening later this year).
In true Mandarin Oriental fashion, the hotel also has a world-class spa hidden underground. It greets guests with a Ming marble reception desk before opening into treatment rooms, a 25-meter (roughly 82-foot) heated indoor swimming pool, steam rooms, vitality pools and a gym.

Just know that, like most of London's luxury hotels, the Mandarin Oriental comes with an equally luxurious price tag — entry-level rooms start at over $1,300 a night.
