Update 3: The hotel has confirmed that it will honor this deal. Congrats to anyone who managed to book a stay!
Update 2: This deal is no longer available.
Update: Note that this property is currently undergoing a complete renovation. Here's a statement from the hotel's website:
The hotel has begun a complete renovation and redesign that will be completed by December 2017. All the facilities remain fully operational throughout this period. The construction work will be not visible, and great care has been taken to restrict any noise to hours between 10am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday. We anticipate minimum disruption to our guests.
The Hyatt Regency isn't the first hotel you think of when it comes to 5-star stays in Paris, but we've never seen a deal like this at the Park Hyatt! You can currently book a stay at the Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile for just 3,000 Hyatt points + $20 per night. This rate covers a stay in a Club King or Club Twin room, so your stay includes access to the Regency Club, with complimentary breakfast, snacks and more.
Rooms are 22 square meters (237 square feet), so they're definitely on the cozy side, but you could (assuming there's availability) upgrade your stay with a Diamond Suite Upgrade. Availability is pretty much wide open from now through September 2017, though there are some dates that are already sold out.
Next July, for example, you can book a week-long stay for just 3,000 points + $20 per night:
The cash rate (for even the most basic room) is $622 — a club room will run you $672.
Your total for 7 nights? $180 + 21,000 points, which are worth $378 according to TPG's valuations.
If paying cash, the same stay will cost you a whopping $4,722!
If you need more Hyatt points, you can transfer instantly from Ultimate Rewards at a rate of 1:1. It's easy to rack up UR points with cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred. The Chase Sapphire Reserve, meanwhile, is currently offering a gigantic sign-up bonus of 100,000 points after you spend $4,000 in the first three months — that's enough for a month at the Hyatt Regency at this rate (plus cash)!
Confirm the rules on your dates, but on the dates I searched rooms can be canceled up to 24 hours in advance with no penalty, so book now if you think you'll be able to travel. Don't make tons of speculative bookings, however, since you'll be pulling inventory away from fellow travelers who are able to confirm their plans now.
