Watch This Insane Emirates A380 Crosswind Landing
We at Team TPG like to keep things interesting, so we wanted to add a bit of action to kick off everyone's weekend. From time to time, we'll be posting a video of a crazy takeoff, landing or anything aviation related that we think is worthy of a few minutes of your time. For the first installment of the series, check out this video of a truly insane crosswind landing at Dusseldorf (DUS).
It is crazy — and somewhat frightening — to see the enormous Emirates A380 being buffeted by such a strong crosswind. As the aircraft nears the runway, its nose is lined up at an angle with the tarmac. Upon touching down, the aircraft abruptly straightens out — it couldn't have been the most comfortable landing for the passengers inside. Kudos to the pilot for landing the aircraft safely in such unforgiving conditions!
