Carnivores, ready your appetites. Cagney's, Norwegian Cruise Line's steakhouse, offers a delicious menu of options for meat eaters in the market for a decadent dinner.

On NCL, Cagney's menu items are some of the best in the fleet, and they're served in an upscale atmosphere, evoking a decidedly "Mad Men" feel on many ships.

Here's everything you need to know about the restaurant, from the official Cagney's Steakhouse menu to pricing and a list of ships where you can find the venue. Whether you're thinking of dining at Cagney's for a special occasion or just because you adore a great steak, this guide will help you to determine whether a meal there is worth the splurge.

What is Cagney's Steakhouse on Norwegian Cruise Line?

Cagney's is NCL's steakhouse, and it's one of several onboard restaurants for which you'll pay extra. As you might have guessed, its focus is on steak and other options that are heavy on meat and seafood.

Reservations are almost always a must at Cagney's. Upon arrival, a host will show you to your table, where you'll receive a menu, including a selection of wines. A sommelier will stop by to take your order and make suggestions if you're stuck on what to pair with your meal.

Decor varies from ship to ship, but the vibe on the line's newest vessels is straight out of the midcentury modern movement. It's reminiscent of a place where high-powered business executives would dine in the 1950s.

Cagney's is open for dinner only, and you might want to consider dressing up a bit. Although there's no official dress code, and the setting certainly isn't formal, you might feel out of place in overly casual clothing.

A meal at Cagney's Steakhouse starts with your choice of appetizers, including crab cake, jumbo shrimp and tuna tartare. The soup-and-salad course features a wedge salad, as well as lobster bisque and beefsteak tomato selections.

Mains are split into three sections: featured selections, grilled classics and seafood. The first contains dishes such as a 16-ounce prime rib, surf and turf, lamb chops and pork chops. "Grilled classics" encompass standard steak choices like ribeye, filet mignon, porterhouse and New York strip. The seafood menu comprises steelhead trout, jumbo shrimp and a fisherman's platter (shrimp, scallops, calamari, branzino and a crab cake). You can add a lobster tail to any main for an extra fee.

All steak selections come with a choice of sauces: bearnaise, green peppercorn, chimichurri, port wine jus, house-made steak sauce and butter.

Sides include potatoes several ways (including to-die-for truffle fries), onion rings, grilled zucchini, creamed spinach, steamed broccoli, sauteed garlic mushrooms and risotto.

Be sure to save room for dessert. The menu entices with items that might include raspberry creme brulee, seven-layer chocolate cake, apple pie with vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookie cheesecake and warm blueberry oatmeal crisp.

As there are extremely limited selections that don't include meat and fish, vegetarians and vegans will likely want to steer clear of this eatery.

Cagney's has no dedicated children's menu, but young diners can order from the shipwide kids menu for free.

Note: Menu items are for example only; they are subject to change without notice and might vary by ship and itinerary.

What does it cost to eat at Cagney's Steakhouse on Norwegian cruise ships?

On the Cagney's Steakhouse menu, NCL prices items a la carte. Starters, soups and salads will set you back anywhere from $9 to $14 each, while mains run the gamut from $29 to $55. Sides are $9 apiece, and desserts range from $12 to $14. A four-course meal with a starter, main, side and dessert will set you back roughly $60 to $90.

If you have a dining package, you can use one of your meals to eat at Cagney's. You'll be able to select one starter, one soup or salad, one main and one dessert. (Note that some mains might have a supplemental fee.) Additional items will be charged a la carte, and drinks are not covered unless you have an applicable beverage package.

There is no children's pricing at Cagney's.

A 20% gratuity is added to all checks.
