Hyatt's New Promotion: Up to 60,000 Bonus Points
While it's not the Faster Free Nights that was number one on my birthday list, Hyatt announced today a decent promotion that will allow me to rack up some valuable Hyatt Gold Passport points.
Per Hyatt: Hyatt Gold Passport is excited to announce that the next global campaign will run 01APR11 through 30JUN11. Members can earn 10,000 HGP bonus points after their first 5 eligible nights and then 5,000 bonus points for every 2 nights after that. Members can earn up to 25 nights (maximum of 60,000 bonus points).Starting on 3/31, visit www.goldpassport.com/possibilities to register.
Initial thoughts:
1) This is more lucrative than their last promotion, The Great 10K, which offered 10,000 points for every 5 nights. In essence, this promotion gives 2,500 points a night vs Great 10k's 2,000. Granted, earning is capped at 60,000 points (25 nights), but payouts after the first 5 nights are after 2 nights (not the 5 night minimum of Great 10K)
2) Hyatt has been mum on G bonuses, which are random 1,000-3,000 bonuses for stays at random properties. There's never been much rhyme or reason to which properties participated and how many points each awarded, but it's clear that Hyatt's scaled back on this program and instead focused on their big promotion.
3) I don't know if there are many properties that are opting out, but I doubt it based on past promotions.
I'll wait to make final judgement until I see the full T&C, but in the meantime this promotion seems decent enough to me.
