Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

A variety of airlines are offering cheap flights this spring to Italian cities of Rome (FCO) and Milan (MXP). The lowest prices are on Norwegian — which means no free checked bag or meals on-board — but others are available on mainline carriers United, Delta, Air France, Alitalia and Emirates. Use Google Flights to search by plugging in your departure city and desired dates, then book through the airline or Expedia.

If you're looking to grab the cheapest option, remember that you can save up to 30% off Norwegian flights by booking your flights on the Norwegian version of the website. Just navigate to www.norwegian.no and use a website translate tool like Google Translate to help you through the process.
