Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using the American Express Platinum Card, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

Norwegian is offering heavy discounts on flights from New York to Scandinavia, with fares starting from just $192 round-trip. These low prices are valid for departures from January through February 2017. The nonstop flights are operated by the carrier's 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which makes for a comfortable way to cross the Atlantic. Keep in mind that there are only a few dates available for these deals, but if you're flexible with travel dates this winter, this could make a great deal for you.

Norwegian's economy product is fairly comfy on the 787.

To get this low price, you'll have to use a combination of tools — both the Google Flights separate tickets feature and utilizing foreign versions of Norwegian's site. For some itineraries, Google Flights will prompt you to book the outbound and inbound segments separately. One will book through the US version of the site, while the other through a foreign site (in our example it's the Swedish version). You can also find a low-priced itinerary on Google Flights and then head to the Norwegian version of the carrier's site and input your dates directly. Booking from this site will result in a moderate discount from the price you'd find if you're booking through the US version of the site.

Keep in mind that Norwegian is a low-cost carrier and will charge you for certain things that are not typically an additional cost on other airlines. However, even with these extra fees, the total cost is still significantly lower than what other carriers are charging for similar flights.
