Costco members: Save 10% on Southwest gift cards for a limited time
If you're a Costco member and are planning a trip on Southwest Airlines in the near future, here's something to consider. Costco is selling Southwest gift cards at a 10% discount right now.
That means the $500 gift card comes with a $50 discount. It's a good way to earn points on the purchase using the right credit card and buy Southwest flights at a discount and earn RapidRewards points when you book your flight.
The gift cards are officially on sale for $449.99 a 10% savings. You can buy more of them than during previous sales, which included a maximum of three gift cards per customer. You can now buy up to five, in which case you'd pay close to $2,250 for $2,500 worth of airfare.

While that would be a hefty price to pay on the front end, it's worth noting the gift cards do not expire. This could be a great way for a family of five to book $300 round-trip tickets to save $150 on airfare.
How to pay for your gift cards
While you must use a Visa when buying merchandise in a Costco store, you can use several types of cards when checking out at Costco.com. You can use a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Diners Club, JBC or UnionPay.

Buy ASAP
This isn't the first time Costco has offered discounted airline gift cards. In past sales, Costco has allowed members to purchase Delta gift cards in-store or online and had sales that involved both Southwest and Alaska Airlines gift cards previously. This time it's just Southwest, which will send you a redemption code within an n hour or purchase via e-mail.
Bottom line
Whether you're buying these gift cards to save on a trip in the works or you're just looking to save on future Southwest bookings, this is a way to get airfare at a 10% discount compared to what you'd normally spend with a direct purchase from the carrier.
