15x United Miles Today Only at the MileagePlus Shopping Portal

A few days ago Alaska's Mileage Plan shopping portal ran a one-day 15x bonus for select merchants, and now United is doing the same, though with a slightly different list of stores.
If you use the United MileagePlus shopping portal today, Sunday, January 22, anytime up until midnight, you can earn 15x United miles when you make a purchase with any of the following online retailers:
- Banana Republic
- Coach
- eBags
- Groupon
- H&R Block
- Lord & Taylor
- Neiman Marcus
- Nike
- Old Navy
- Rosetta Stone
- Saks 5th Avenue
- Shoebuy
- Sleepy’s
- Sunglass Hut
- Under Armour
TPG values United miles at 1.5 cents apiece, so you can rack up some significant extra value today if you're shopping at any of these stores. Of course, these miles are in addition to the points, miles or cash back you'll get from whichever credit card you use to make the purchase.
New to the list this time around are merchants like Banana Republic and Groupon, while others have seen enormous increases. Before today, Old Navy's earning rate through the MileagePlus portal was only 2 miles per dollar, while both Lord & Taylor and Sake Fifth Avenue were previously paying only 3 miles per dollar.
Also of note are the ongoing targeted Amex Offers for Neiman Marcus — which offers a $50 statement credit when purchasing $200 or more at the store — and eBags, which gives $10 off a $50 purchase. Either of these offers will stack with this 15x portal bonus as long as you're targeted for them, you use your American Express card and you remember to add the offer to your card online before purchasing.
And if you need to boost your MileagePlus account even more, you can also sign up for the United MileagePlus Explorer Card, which is currently offering 30,000 miles after you spend $1,000 in the first 3 months. This card's $95 annual fee is waived for the first year, and even comes with two United Club passes and a free checked bag on any United flight when you use the card to pay for your ticket.
