Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to travel. Additionally, keep in mind that discounted partner fares may not earn miles with US-based carriers.
Xiamen Airlines is offering great business class fares from Seattle to Asian cities including Beijing (PEK), Shanghai (PVG) and Xi'an (XIY) via its hub in Shenzhen (SZX). The cheapest flights are on the carrier's nonstop flight from Seattle (SEA) to Shenzhen operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Shenzhen is a port city less than an hour from Hong Kong, so this can make for a very reasonably priced business-class trip to Southeast Asia — you can even take a ferry from the airport to Hong Kong or Macau. There is availability from September through December, including on the inaugural flight from Seattle. Keep in mind that Xiamen is a SkyTeam partner, so you can earn Delta SkyMiles if you choose to book these flights.
Additionally, Xiamen's website shows that you can upgrade from business to first class for $500 and from economy to business for $500 at time of check in. This could be a great option to fly international in first class, if there is availability when you decide to book.
