Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using the American Express Platinum Card, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

United is offering discounted business-class fares from Toronto (YYZ) to China from just $1,710 round-trip. You can fly to either Beijing (PEK) or Shanghai (PVG) with availability from March through May 2017.

You'll get to fly on a variety of United's long-haul aircraft in business class, meaning you'll get the Polaris soft-product featuring new food, service and amenities, but not the airline's new hard product. Although these flights are out of YYZ, many in the Northeast and Midwest can easily get to the airport for just a little extra. Business-class flights to China usually go for double this price, so hop on this deal before it's gone. And if you're trying to earn status on United, this could be a great way to get closer to your goal, as you'll earn a healthy amount of PQMs for this flight.
