This week, quite a few TPG readers have let me know by email and over social media that they’re finding some amazing sign-up bonus offers through the CardMatch tool. There’s no guarantee that you’ll be targeted for one of these offers, but as there’s no cost beyond a few seconds of your time, there’s no harm in trying!
Some TPG readers reported seeing yesterday, July 21, 2015, a sign-up bonus offer of 100,000 Membership Rewards points for the American Express Platinum Card or business version after spending $3,000 in your first three months of card membership. There’s also another lucrative offer for 50,000 Membership Rewards points for the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express or its business version after spending $1,000 within the first 3 months.
Both of these offers are through the CardMatch site, which means I can’t guarantee you’ll get them. Whichever offer(s) you do receive, however, be sure to take screenshots so that you can prove to the card issuer that you in fact received it/them.
The CardMatch tool allows you to see if you’ve been targeted for any special credit card offers, and searching for these offers does NOT put a hard credit inquiry on your credit report.
To get the offer, go to the CardMatch tool and enter your information. Some folks might be squeamish about entering personal information online, but it’s a reputable site and you shouldn’t be any more anxious about it than applying for a credit card online.
Hopefully you’ll get an Amex Platinum offer for 100,000 Membership Rewards points, and/or the Premier Rewards Gold offer for 50,000 points. Again, take a screen shot of any offer you want to apply for as proof that you received it.
Signing up for the American Express Platinum Card with a sign-up bonus of 100,000 Membership Rewards points is an incredible deal. In my most recent monthly valuations, I list Membership Rewards points at 2 cents each, so I value 100,000 Membership Rewards points at $2,000, which far outweighs the $450 annual fee — and you get a $200 airline fee credit and Global Entry credit on top of that.
The Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express card offers 50,000 points after you spend $1,000 with no annual fee for the first year, and I value those 50,000 points at $1,000, making this another great deal, for a really low minimum spend. For both of these cards, it’s important to note that these offers are not available to applicants who have or have had this product previously, so if you’ve ever had one of these cards before, you won’t be able to sign-up again and receive the bonus.
As a reminder, CardMatch doesn’t force a hard credit inquiry, so there’s really no downside to looking. While these two cards are particularly good deals, you might also be targeted for other lucrative cards; readers have also reported higher offers for the Gold Delta SkyMiles Amex and the Amex EveryDay, so it’s worth taking a look!
If you’ve been targeted for any great offers through CardMatch tool, let us know in the comments below! Aside from the limited-time sign-up bonus of 100,000 points, Amex recently made huge improvements to the Business Platinum Card, including the fact that you will now earn 50% more points on purchases of $5,000 or more and cardholders will receive a 50% Airline bonus when you redeem Membership Rewards for all or part of an eligible fare.
