IHG Rewards, formerly Priority Club, is notorious (in a good way!) for having a lot of live, targeted promo codes going on at once - anything from bonus points for a single stay or a series of stays to anniversary bonuses and even elite status for just a few stays.

Belgian points blogger Bart has a great post on all the current promo codes he could find, and he actually registered for all of them to earn nearly 23,000 IHG Rewards points on a single night's stay at the Holiday Inn Brussels Airport last week, but more interestingly, one of the codes he had was for instant Gold status after a single stay.

When you register for this promo code (ID # 1038), you get Gold status after a single night or stay which usually takes either 15 qualifying nights, or 10 qualifying nights at at least 3 of IHG's brands, or earning 20,000 qualifying points. Don't get too excited because Gold status won't give you the world (or even free breakfast), but includes benefits such as late check-out, complimentary newspaper, free internet (starting in 2014, all members will have free internet), priority check-in and a 10% points-earning bonus.

Ostensibly, this is an offer for HP employees, but it looks like anyone is able to register and Bart actually earned it on his stay last week, so it can't hurt to register. You just have to complete a stay by December 31, 2013.

"The Big Win" Promo

Also remember that IHG is currently offering its fall promo, "The Big Win," for stays from September 1-December 31, 2013. The bonuses are customized rewards, and offers will differ among members to give personalized benefits, with a minimum of 50,000 bonus points or 10,000 airline miles available to each member over the course of the promotion. The first night stayed earns 1,000 points or 500 miles, and then the offers vary in terms of stays, brands or number of nights.

IHG Launched 'The Big Win' promotion on Monday.

You can register here to enter the promotion to begin earning with the following offers (this is a sample offering for an IHG member without elite status, though if you have been a long-time IHG Rewards member or have elite status, your offers could be more lucrative):

  • Try one and done: Stay at any IHG hotel and receive 1,000 Points
  • Stay more and earn: Stay a total of 4 nights and receive 4,000 Points
  • Explore more brands: Stay at 3 different IHG brands and receive 10,000 Points
  • Book with us: Book 2 separate stays through an IHG hotel website or mobile device to get our best price guarantee and receive 2,000 Points
  • Win in a weekend: Stay 2 Saturday nights and receive 8,000 Points

If you complete all your offers before December 31, 2013, you will earn an additional 25,000 bonus miles. You must be an IHG Rewards Club member and must register member number in advance, for full terms and conditions, click here.

All in all, with the Win Big promo, all the various promo codes and the HP employee gold status, you could really end up raking in the points here, and since some IHG stays start at just 5,000 points thanks to its discount PointBreaks awards, you could end up earning a lot of stays if you maximize these promos.
