My friend and fellow blogger Ric from Loyalty Traveler is currently participating in a charity drive by travel bloggers to raise money to build libraries in Zambia. Tomorrow, December 16 is the last day to donate to be eligible to win a prize.

Each blogger has anted up a prize and you can bid on each with a $10 donation. Ric’s is one of the best- 110,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points which will be deposited directly into your account. That’s enough for 5 nights at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome or Park Hyatt Maldives!

So think about donating- it’s a great cause and if you have the possibility of earning points, then all the better!

Libraries in Zambia? Seriously? Confused why Zambia when the Loyalty Traveler constantly harps about the “small” amount of free money that is funneled towards education and social programs here in the US (which, gasp, is the scorn of his precious teacher’s union).

@rolleyes – education and literacy are global initiatives not bounded by USA borders.
Helping the less fortunate everywhere is a good endeavor. Seriously!

What a great cause! As a social worker, I believe that education is the number one way to help our children (in any country). I donated :)
