For years, low-cost carriers have offered travelers a way to save money on air travel. But let’s be honest — you kind of knew what you were getting: lots of fees, not a lot of legroom and not much that you’d describe as bougie.

Safe to say, these aren’t the low-cost airlines of 15 years ago. And if the price is right, they might be worth another shot — even if you’ve typically stuck with the bigger carriers.
