It’s advice I agree with, generally, but where I’ve really found a ton of value lately is actually in one of the original travel rewards currencies: American Airlines AAdvantage miles.
AAdvantage miles have become my most popular way to book first- and business-class flights over the past year, including some incredible partner deals like:
Japan Airlines’ famous first class to and from Tokyo for just 80,000 and 60,000 miles, respectively — a classic redemption I’ve relied on for more than a decade. I’ve also booked both first- and business-class round-trip flights from Tokyo to Shanghai.
I’ve booked several luxurious Etihad Airways first-class Apartment suites between Abu Dhabi and Paris. (These can be harder to find, but do occasionally pop up.) I cannot wait to do this in the Airbus A380, which features a legendary shower in the sky!
I also booked Etihad’s new service from Atlanta to Abu Dhabi and then on to Johannesburg for just 75,000 AAdvantage miles each way in business class. Safari, here I come!
I could go on and on with killer redemptions, but hopefully I’ve whetted your appetite enough to jump on two fabulous offers available right now:
The Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® is offering a best-ever 100,000 bonus miles after you spend $10,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.
Plus, the recently launched Citi® / AAdvantage® Globe™ Mastercard® is offering 90,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 on purchases within the first four months from account opening.
