A Jet2 plane was evacuated upon landing in Prague on Sunday night after a bomb threat was discovered while the passenger jet was mid-air.

The flight’s captain told passengers a “threatening note” had been found on board the plane while it was flying from Manchester (MAN) to Prague (PRG). Once the flight landed, all passengers were told to leave their belongings on the aircraft and exit as quickly as possible.

Local police who searched the plane reportedly found a drawing of a bomb in one of the aircraft lavatories.

One passenger, Sam Paxton, told the Sun that when the flight landed at 6pm, passengers immediately had to evacuate. “I overheard the air hostess say she had noticed it in the toilets,” Paxton said of the threat. “There was a note and it was something to do with a bomb being on board. We were taken off the flight and had to leave all our coats and bags there to be searched.”

Passenger Guy Garson posted on social media that flyers didn’t have access to their belongings until five hours later.

The Prague airport said on Twitter that local police did a sweep of the plane as well as all of the luggage in the cabin.

The airport gave the all clear shortly after.

A representative for Jet2 told the Sun that the aircraft was cleared to return to service and apologized to the passengers for the inconvenience.
