If you've been perched on that proverbial fence, undecided whether now's the right time to commit to a card that earns lucrative Membership Rewards points for everyday business spending, jump off now. You have just a few more days to take advantage of the limited-time welcome offer on The Blue Business®️ Plus Credit Card from American Express. This offer is scheduled to end September 26.

Earn 10,000 Membership Rewards points after you spend $3,000 on eligible purchases on the card within your first three months. This certainly isn't the juiciest welcome bonus you'll ever see, but it's pretty compelling for a card that charges no annual fee and returns 2x points on all spending up to $50,000 annually (then 1x).

TPG values Membership Rewards points at 1.9 cents each, meaning this bonus is worth $190. That exceptional value carries over to your everyday spending, too, as each dollar you spend returns 3.8%, whether you're buying new monogrammed polos for your employees or springing for drinks and appetizers after work. If you hit the 2x cap, you’ll earn 100,000 Membership Rewards points, worth $1,900.

You’ll receive Amex’s stable of insurance protections, including extended warranties, purchase protection, baggage insurance and car rental insurance. You also have the ability to spend above your credit limit if approved and you can take advantage of a 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for 15 months, then a variable rate of 12.99% to 20.99%.

Keep this card in your wallet for all your non-bonus spending needs, but make sure you pair it with another Membership Rewards card that offers category-specific bonuses.

One last thing: If you are getting ready to apply, just keep in mind that Amex — like most other issuers — follows a set of application restrictions. You may be limited to five American Express cards at one time, not including charge cards, and you can only receive a bonus on a card once. So, if you took advantage of the 20,000-point targeted bonus offered on the Blue Business Plus earlier this year, you may be out of luck.

How we chose these cards

Our points-obsessed staff uses a plethora of credit cards on a daily basis. If anyone on our team wouldn’t recommend it to a friend or a family member, we wouldn’t recommend it on The Points Guy either. Our opinions are our own, and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by our advertising partners.
