Photographer Matthew Dippel was minding his own business at Taft Point in Yosemite National Park when the chance to take what might be the engagement photo of every couple’s dreams fell into his lap.

Alright Internet I need your help. Help me find these two. This was taken at Taft Point, in Yosemite National Park on…

Originally, Dippel was attempting to take a picture of his friend in front of the cliff. However, his agenda quickly changed when he saw the couple in the background assume proposal position. According to Dippel, the two were hugging and appeared very excited — so it looked like it went well. Yet, despite being deceptively from the newly engaged couple (about a two-minute walk, says Dippel) he couldn’t catch up to them in time.

“I ran over to that point after I took the photo to try to figure out who they were and I asked maybe 20 or 25 people and no one came forward,” said Dippel to CNN. Thus began the hunt to find the beautifully photographed couple.
“Alright Internet I need your help. Help me find these two. This was taken at Taft Point, in Yosemite National Park on October 6th, 2018. I took this photo and would love for them to find it,” Dippel posted on his Facebook. “My Instagram is @gorgeouscornchip.” The post has since been shared more than 15,000 times and has more than 7,000 likes and reactions since CNN picked up the story. Despite this, the couple has yet to be identified.
So, in the name of love, we’re joining the hunt. Do you think you might know these two lovebirds?
