Frontier debuts 5 international routes from Atlanta, offers $69 introductory fares
Frontier Airlines continues to expand its international route tree out of Atlanta with the announcement that it will soon launch service to five additional international destinations including the Bahamas, Costa Rica and Jamaica.
The budget airline will debut the new routes in the fall with limited-time fares for travel through early 2023 that start at $69.
The expansion lifts Frontier's international offerings out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to eight cities. The carrier has more than doubled its international flights out of Atlanta in less than a year and now serves 36 nonstop destinations from the city.
"This international expansion marks an exciting milestone for Frontier at ATL," said Frontier senior vice president for customers Jake Filene. "We now offer an extensive range of flight options, including an impressive roster of international destinations, providing Atlanta-area consumers even more opportunities to enjoy our 'Low Fares Done Right.'"
The expansion news comes after the much-discussed merger between Frontier and Spirit Airlines collapsed in July. It also comes less than two weeks before the airline begins new service from its hub at Denver International Airport (DEN) to Houston's William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), a route that Southwest Airlines has run exclusively for years.

Frontier also is increasing its Florida presence. The ultra-low-cost airline is launching thrice-weekly service from Denver to Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) in West Palm Beach in November. It offers $69 fares on this route, but you must book by midnight on Aug. 23.
November also sees new twice-weekly service from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Mexico's Guadalajara International Airport (GDL). This new route has introductory fares of just $89, as long as you book your ticket by Aug. 23.
As for the new routes out of Atlanta, those begin in November. The five new services are:
- Nassau, Bahamas: Service begins Nov. 5; one flight each week.
- San Salvador, El Salvador: Service begins Nov. 6; twice-weekly flights.
- Kingston, Jamaica: Service begins Nov. 7; twice-weekly flights.
- San Jose, Costa Rica: Service begins Nov. 17; twice-weekly flights.
- Liberia, Costa Rica: Service begins Dec. 17; one flight each week.

Introductory fares to Nassau and San Salvador are $69. San Jose and Liberia have $79 prices, and tickets to Kingston start at $89. To enjoy these discount fares, you must buy your tickets by 11:59 p.m. EDT on Aug. 23. According to Frontier's press release, "Fares are valid for non-stop travel on select days of the week, Nov. 5, 2022 through Feb. 2, 2023."
You do not have to purchase a round-trip ticket to get the sale fares.
There are quite a few blackout dates, too, which are listed on Frontier's website. Tickets are nonrefundable unless passengers request a refund within 24 hours of booking.
