Back in March of 2017, Hyatt launched its entirely revamped World of Hyatt loyalty program. Ultimately, it became more difficult to earn top-tier elite status, and an unknown number of frequent Hyatt guests began shifting their stays to Marriott, instead — though there were notable exceptions.

Elite status became even more valuable for top members, though, so anyone able to meet the new 60-night qualification requirement for the Globalist tier could look forward to expanded suite upgrades, plus a free night each year at any Hyatt hotel in the world.

Now, the chain just launched a new promotion that’ll help get you a bit closer to that coveted status. Through the end of next month, all qualifying Andaz stays with a checkout date by August 31 will earn you double night credits. If you’re booking several rooms together, you’ll only earn credit for the room you stay in, and bonus nights will be deposited in your Hyatt account the month after you earn them.

You’ll be working your way to one of the World of Hyatt program’s three elite tiers:

  • Discoverist — earned after 10 nights or 25,000 base points ($5,000 in spending)
  • Explorist — earned after 30 nights or 50,000 base points ($10,000 in spending)
  • Globalist — earned after 60 nights or 100,000 base points ($20,000 in spending)

The challenge with this particular promotion is that there are only 17 Andaz properties around the world, including just eight in the US. There are some great options to note, from the Andaz Napa to one of TPG’s top picks in Tokyo, but you might need to go a bit out of your way to book a stay.

There are other status shortcuts to keep in mind, too — you can get instant Discoverist status with the new World of Hyatt Credit Card, for example. That card will also get you five elite night credits each year, plus the opportunity to earn an additional two night credits for every $5,000 spent on the card in a calendar year.
