Earn up to 75,000 SkyMiles or a $400 Delta gift card when you book with Delta Vacations
Planning a summer vacation? You could earn big if you book flights and hotels with Delta Vacations.
The airline is offering up to 75,000 SkyMiles or a $400 Delta gift card when you book a flight-and-hotel vacation package by June 30. The offer features more rewards for higher spending on Delta Vacations packages, but there's no minimum spending requirement for the smallest bonus of 5,000 SkyMiles or a $50 gift card.
Let's take a closer look at this deal and whether or not you should take advantage of it this summer.

Earn up to 75,000 SkyMiles with Delta Vacations
The number of rewards you get depends on how much you spend on a vacation package. Here's how the promotion is structured:
- Bookings up to $1,499: 5,000 SkyMiles or a $50 Delta gift card.
- Bookings of $1,500 to $3,999: 20,000 SkyMiles or a $100 Delta gift card.
- Bookings of $4,000 to $6,999: 40,000 SkyMiles or a $250 Delta gift card.
- Bookings of $7,000 or more: 75,000 SkyMiles or a $400 Delta gift card.
To get the bonus, you must be a SkyMiles member and use one of two promo codes when searching for Delta Vacations packages: SMEARN75K to earn bonus miles or SMGIFT400 to earn a Delta gift card.
You can find more details on the offer and search for vacation packages on this landing page. All flight-and-hotel packages are eligible, provided the hotel stay is at least two nights long and travel originates in the U.S. or Canada. You will receive your bonus SkyMiles or Delta gift card six to eight weeks after travel is completed.
You must book travel by June 30 to be eligible for the promotion, but there's no travel-by date.

Considerations for this deal
I recommend picking the SkyMiles option if you take advantage of this deal. TPG currently values SkyMiles at 1.41 cents apiece, meaning the 75,000 SkyMiles deal could be worth $1,057.50. This is over $600 more in value than the $400 Delta gift card that you'd earn at the same spending level.
While you will earn miles on your airfare, you will not earn hotel points or be able to use hotel elite status benefits when booking chain hotels through Delta Vacations. With that in mind, this offer is advantageous for those booking independent hotels this summer, as it gives you a way to earn rewards on a hotel stay where you wouldn't otherwise earn points.
As always, make sure to compare the cost of your vacation package with booking your flights and hotel stays separately. And if you decide to book a Delta Vacations package, make sure to pay with a credit card that earns bonus points on travel to maximize your rewards.

Bottom line
This can be a lucrative deal if you're planning a summer vacation. If the math works out, you could walk away with a nice haul of SkyMiles for future trips. Plus, you may be able to take advantage of preferred rates through the Delta Vacations portal, depending on the hotel and flights you book.
