Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

Several airlines currently have great prices from US cities to beautiful Cancún, Mexico. Starting at just $189 round-trip you can fly from Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Dallas (DFW), Denver (DEN), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Houston (IAH), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO), Philadelphia (PHL), and Tampa (TPA) to Cancún (CUN). The deals begin as soon as this month and end around February of 2019.

If you decide to book, you might even consider staying at The Ritz-Carlton Cancún (a points hotel) that actor and comedian Josh Peck reviewed for TPG on his honeymoon.

Keep in mind that some of the deals are for basic economy fares that can include additional fees. However, airline’s co-branded credit cards can combat some of basic economy’s annoyances.

To book, simply scroll through the dates on Google Flights until you find an itinerary that suits your budget and calendar, then book directly through the airline or an OTA like Orbitz or Expedia.
