Chase just extended its DoorDash partnership until 2024 — here's what that means for you
Editor’s note: This post has been updated with new information.
Since 2020, Chase has partnered with DoorDash, offering discounts on the company’s DashPass unlimited delivery program to select cardholders.
DoorDash DashPass membership usually costs $9.99 per month, for which customers receive lower service fees and free delivery on eligible restaurant orders over $12 or more and grocery orders over $25. Members save an average of $4 to $5 per order, according to DoorDash.
Depending on the Chase card you carry, though, you can get a complimentary DashPass membership or at a steep discount.
While this limited-time benefit was originally set to end yesterday, Jan. 31, 2022, there's good news: Chase has extended this partnership for eligible cardholders through the end of 2024. Even if you already canceled, you can resubscribe and potentially enjoy discounts for years to come. Here are the details.

DoorDash benefits for Chase Sapphire cards
The Chase Sapphire Reserve and the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card now offer the complimentary DashPass benefit through Dec. 31, 2024, or for a minimum of 12 months, depending on your activation date.
That means if you were to enroll on the very last day of this promotion, you would receive DashPass benefits through the end of 2025.
But there's no reason you shouldn't enroll in DashPass now since you'll enjoy the membership for almost three years at this point (for the rest of 2022 and throughout 2023 and 2024).
Note that if you've previously activated DoorDash DashPass and canceled it before the previous promotion end date (Jan. 31, 2022), you're eligible to reactivate your membership on the app to reap the benefits through 2024 as well. Simply reenter your eligible card details and your membership should become active again.
New DoorDash credit for Sapphire Reserve cardholders
Previously, Sapphire Reserve cardmembers also received up to $60 in DoorDash credits in 2020 and up to another $60 in 2021.
Now, Chase has announced that Sapphire Reserve cardmember will receive a $5 monthly DoorDash in-app credit from April 2022 through December 2024 — up to a $165 value.
What's nice about this credit is that it can roll over for up to three months before expiration, for a maximum of $15 in total credit to redeem at a time. So while a $5 monthly DoorDash credit might not seem like much, you can wait up to three months for your credit to accumulate and then treat yourself to a $15 lunch.
Chase Freedom and Chase Slate DoorDash benefits
Certain Chase no-annual-fee cardholders will also get some love.
Starting April 1, 2022, Chase Freedom and Slate cardholders who have not activated their DashPass before can still enroll for three free months of membership through the DoorDash website or on the DoorDash app before Dec. 31, 2024.
Here's the full list of eligible cards for this promotion:
- Chase Freedom Unlimited
- Chase Freedom Flex
- Chase Freedom (no longer available)
- Chase Slate Edge
- Chase Slate
Just be sure to add a calendar reminder so you can reevaluate — otherwise, after the three-month trial period, cardmembers will be automatically enrolled in DashPass at a 50% discount (4.99/month) for an additional nine months. Then, Chase Freedom and Slate cardholders will be automatically enrolled in the membership at full price ($9.99/month).
Other Chase cardholders
Don't forget that if you have a cobranded Chase credit card (i.e. an airline or hotel card), you might be eligible for a year of complimentary DoorDash DashPass membership, too. You just have to register your card by March 31, 2022.
If you haven't enrolled yet, simply add your eligible card to the DoorDash site or app and click to add the offer, between now and the end of March. After the first year, DashPass will renew at the full $9.99 monthly price.
There are a good number of Chase cards that are eligible for this promotion including the following cobranded products:
So even if you don't have one of the Sapphire cards, you can still get up to a year of DashPass benefits with your cobranded card. That said, if you also carry the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve, you might as well register for that for complimentary DashPass membership through 2024.
Bottom line
Pandemic-era benefits have come and go, yet Chase is making a big bet on DoorDash and has extended this partnership through the end of 2024 for select cardholders. If you haven't activated your DashPass benefits yet, you can pair it with DoorDash’s new-customer offer that gives you $10 off each of your first three orders over $15 when you sign up using TPG’s referral link.
