Amazon Is Planning to Launch Cashier-Free Store in London

Amazon is reportedly planning to bring its cashier-less brick-and-mortar store to London. It is the first such store planned outside of the US.
According to a report in the Telegraph, the company is looking for spaces to break ground for an Amazon Go store in the UK capital city. Amazon Go is the online shopping behemoth's physical grocery store where customers open the Amazon app on their phones, grab the items they want and exit without checking out. Amazon's app automatically bills them based on in-store sensors and cameras.
Seattle already has an Amazon Go store, which opened in January 2017 on the company's campus. Amazon is also reportedly is considering a plan to open 3,000 of the stores by 2021, including in some US airports. Upcoming US stores have been confirmed in Chicago, San Francisco and New York City.
For its London store location, Amazon is looking for sites between 3,000 and 5,000 square feet. Anonymous industry insiders told the Telegraph that the location will likely be in London's West End, a popular shopping neighborhood — more specifically in the Oxford Circus district of shops and restaurants.
In addition to grocery items, the stores also offer prepared food, beer and wine.
