Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Finding flights across the Atlantic for less than the cost of some domestic flights has almost become a norm. However, finding ones that include amenities like free carry-on bags are harder to come by. Today we're seeing that Air Canada, Icelandair, SAS and United are offering discounted fares from a number of US cities — even those on the West Coast — to Nordic capitals from $303 round-trip for travel from August to December 2018. And if you book your flight with Icelandair, you can visit two Nordic capitals for the price of one by taking advantage of the carrier's free stopover program. Fall and winter are beautiful (yet cold) times to visit the Nordic countries, and when flights to get you there cost less than some domestic flights, you book.
To book, head to Google Flights and plug in your desired departure city. After finding dates that work best for you, book with the airline directly or with an OTA such as Expedia or Priceline. If you want to make sure that your ticket includes a carry-on bag, you’ll want to use Google Flights’ feature that allows you to filter out no-carry-on fares.
