Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

Flights from the major US airports to New Delhi (DEL) are on sale for as low as $463 round-trip. You can fly from Boston (BOS) Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK) or San Fransisco (SFO) on full-service carriers on select dates in September, October and November. If you’re more keen on using your points and miles, you can do that too, but it might make more sense to purchase these cheap cash fares. It’s now possible to earn and redeem American miles on China Southern flights.

When you touch down in New Delhi, make sure to make the most of the diverse dining scene. You’re also just a few hours drive from the majestic Taj Mahal.

To search, head to Priceline or Expedia.
