Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available – Citi Prestige Card

Want to see the latest flight deals as soon as they’re published? Follow The Points Guy on Facebook and Twitter, and subscribe to text message alerts from our deals feed, @tpg_alerts.

Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

Update 6/8 10:05am ET: This deal from LAX-LGW appears to have expired. Congratulations to anyone who was able to take advantage!

Norwegian is offering incredibly discounted flights from Los Angeles to London. The highlight of the deal is one-way flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to London (LGW) for $51. (Though the return is a bit pricier — $248.)

It’s not clear how long these fares will be around. But, Norwegian is currently offering a flash sale for flights from New York (JFK) to LGW — from $139 one-way. If that flash sale offers any clue, it ends Monday, June 11, 11:59pm ET. While travel as part of the flash sale is between June 18 and July 23, 2018, we’re seeing low fares for Los Angeles outside of those dates. Norwegian is advising to use the code LASTMINUTE18 when booking in order to get the discounted fares on the JFK-LGW routes, however, some searches on Google Flights are automatically entering the promo code, though you might manually have to enter it.

Keep in mind also that Norwegian is a low-cost carrier, requiring you to pay for things that are typically free with full-service airlines. You’ll need to pay to check bags, for on board meals, seat selection and more.

Routes: JFK/LAX to LGW
