Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to travel. Additionally, keep in mind that discounted partner fares may not earn miles with US-based carriers.

Want to cross the Atlantic in a lie-flat business-class seat for a great price? Then look no further — we're seeing great business-class deals from Madrid (MAD) to New York City (JFK) starting at just $1,081 round-trip, available for departures through May 2017. Note that you'll have to start in Madrid to get this low price, and you can't book one-way tickets. But if you're planning two trips to Spain's capital city (or elsewhere in Europe), you can use this deal to nest the two trips together.

There are multiple flight options for this route but all are ticketed on Delta, so you will qualify for Medallion Qualifying Dollars on the airline. If you fly on Delta or Air Europa metal you'll be aboard either an A330 or 787 Dreamliner, respectively. Both aircraft offer flat-bed seats so you can catch some shuteye on the transatlantic journey. You could also fly KLM with a connection in Amsterdam or Air France with a layover in Paris, but note that some Air France jets only offer angle-flat seats. Mixing and matching carriers is a great way to try out different business class products for the same price.
