Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

A few days ago we published a deal for flights to Hawaii, and it appears that not only are the cheap flights still around, but also that prices have dropped on some routes while other departure cities have been added. We’re seeing nonstop flights departing from the West Coast for as low as $257 round-trip and flights from the Midwest and East Coast starting from around $400 round-trip (not the best prices we’ve ever seen from those further destinations, but not a bad deal, either).

The discounts depend on your route, so if you’re agnostic about which Hawaiian island to visit, I’d recommend plugging in your preferred departure city and then all major Hawaiian airports (HNL/LIH/OGG/KOA/ITO) into Google Flights to find the absolute cheapest price.

To search, head to Priceline or Expedia.
