Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

Air Canada is offering discounted flights from a number of US cities to China’s capital city. You can fly from Las Vegas (LAS), Seattle (SEA), Phoenix (PHX), Portland (PDX), San Diego (SAN), San Jose (SJC) and Denver (DEN) to Beijing (PEK) from $368 round-trip. Other US cities, such as Denver (DEN) are also included, though you’ll have to pay a little more. Also note that because these are Air Canada-operated flights, you’ll be required to make a stop in Vancouver (YVR).

To book, head to Google Flights and input your departure city and Beijing as your destination. Then, scroll through the calendar function to find the dates that work best for you. Once selected, click through to book directly with Air Canada.
