Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

It's been a while since we've seen a deal worth sharing to Australia. But today, we are seeing some tempting fares down under starting at $746 round-trip in economy or $1,460 round-trip in premium economy. Destinations such as Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne are all available through this deal.

And in case you need convincing, here's our trip-spiration video about the state of Victoria. I can tell you from personal experience having traveled to Australia in December that Melbourne and the surrounding area are worth the trip!

Use Google Flights to search for your preferred departure and destination and then book through Orbitz, Expedia or directly with the airline.

How we chose these cards

Our points-obsessed staff uses a plethora of credit cards on a daily basis. If anyone on our team wouldn’t recommend it to a friend or a family member, we wouldn’t recommend it on The Points Guy either. Our opinions are our own, and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by our advertising partners.
