Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
It’s time to trade in your donuts and coffee for croissants and espresso under the Eiffel Tower or tea and scones next to Big Ben. We’re seeing deals for nonstop flights from Newark (EWR) and Boston (BOS) to Paris (CDG) and London-Stansted (STN) with fares starting at $274 round-trip on low-cost carrier Primera Air.
These cheap tickets are available from September through December, although you’ll see the most discounted prices earlier in the schedule. Even though Primera is a budget airline that charges for things like seat selection, checked bags and meals — nonstop flights to major European cities for under $300 is quite cheap.
TPG’s JT Genter flew Primera’s inaugural flight back in April — although the airline was then using a wet-leased Boeing 757 from National Airlines. It’s now operating its new Airbus A321neos.
Use Google Flights to search for your preferred departure and destination and then book directly through Primera, so you can choose any add-ons.
