The secret? Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card

(Photo by John Gribben for The Points Guy)

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is the entrant in the premium rewards card market — rivaling its competitors with a much lower $395 annual fee.

This yearly cost practically pays for itself after you consider the Venture X's 75,000-mile welcome bonus (after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. ), annual up to $300 statement credit for bookings through the Capital One Travel portal and so much more.

But here's where the Venture X gets fun: Cardholders enjoy unlimited entry to Capital One Lounges and a Priority Pass membership to access more than 1,300+ airport lounges worldwide — and can bring up to two guests for free.

If you have a big family or travel in larger groups, you can also add up to four authorized users for no additional cost. Then, your authorized users will enjoy their own lounge access and guest privileges as well, granting this card's lounge benefits to up to 15 people.

At DFW, there's a lot you can do to pass the time during your next layover.

Once you activate your Priority Pass membership on your Venture X, here's everything you can do at DFW:

  • Take a one-hour power nap in the Minute Suites, where you'll find a daybed, pillows, work station and more — open 24 hours a day (terminals A and D).
  • Play video games from Fortnite to Minecraft for up to two hours at a Gameway lounge and enjoy complimentary soft drinks and snacks (terminals B and E).
  • Get a back, foot or head and facial massage at the Be Relax spa (Terminal B).
  • Enjoy a classic lounge experience at The Club DFW with a hot and cold buffet and showers (Terminal D).

For workout fanatics, there are two Peloton bikes and a yoga room at the flagship Capital One Lounge in Terminal D. You can reserve your bike and a shower suite at the front desk to get your sweat on.

Not to mention, the Capital One Lounge reinvents the airport lounge experience with locally sourced food and drink from seasonal menus, nap pods and a full-service espresso bar.

Bottom line

While there's only one Capital One Lounge at the moment, the issuer will open two more locations in Denver (DEN) and Washington Dulles (IAD) in 2022. For now, Venture X cardholders can make DFW feel like the destination rather than just a part of the journey.
