Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

The Hawaii deals keep coming and coming. We are seeing evening more cheap fares to a handful of different islands in Hawaii, with prices starting from just $335 round-trip.

You can fly from Denver (DEN), Los Angeles (LAX), Oakland (OAK), Portland (PDX), Phoenix (PHX), Seattle (SEA) and San Francisco (SFO) to Honolulu (HNL), Kahului, Maui (OGG), Kauai (LIH) and Kona (KOA) for cheap. We are seeing decent availability from January through March on the big three legacy carriers as well as Alaska and Hawaiian.

This is a good opportunity for a mileage run or just a cheap way to escape the cold. Some flights are in basic economy, but we saw that most upgrades to Main Cabin weren't much more than $15 a seat. Start your search on Google Flights, and then you can book directly with the airline or Expedia.
