The winter storm that’s wreaked havoc on travel in the southern US is making a turn toward the Northeast. Forecasters are predicting over 8 inches of snow through midday Sunday along parts of the East coast.

This storm has already caused the cancellation of over 700 flights, including 550 at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL) airport alone. Hopefully Northeastern airports will be better equipped to handle the winter weather, but lots of delays and cancellations are possible with this storm.

If you’re traveling through either area, airlines are preemptively offering waivers to allow travelers the chance to rebook themselves on flights through other airports or on other dates. So if you have some flexibility in your travel plans, it might be a good idea to try and avoid the storm.

Remember, if you can’t delay your itinerary, airlines aren’t going to be responsible for paying for your meals or hotels in the case of weather-related delays/cancellations. But some top cards have flight delay/cancellation insurance that can reimburse you for weather issues, including the Citi Prestige ($500 per passenger for 3+ hour delay), the Chase Sapphire Reserve ($500 per ticket for 6+ hour or overnight delay) and Chase Sapphire Preferred Card ($500 per ticket for 12+ hour or overnight delay).

The following airports are covered by at least one of the waivers below:
