Start planning your trip to — or from — the Big Apple. Delta’s offering a flash sale on award tickets between select cities and New York, with round-trip rates starting at 11,000 SkyMiles + taxes and fees in economy. In order to take advantage, you must purchase your round-trip ticket by October 12 at 11:59pm ET and travel between November 1 and December 14, 2017.

According to the terms and conditions, the lower mileage awards awards are available on select flights between the continental US and New York — both JFK and LGA. You must purchase your trip on Delta.com and use your SkyMiles.

Keep in mind that you might find more cities than listed as part of this promotion. For example, we’re seeing availability to Fort Lauderdale and other cities. In addition, while the terms and conditions state that the sale is only valid for JFK and LGA airports, we’re also seeing availability to Newark (EWR).

Here are some examples of what you can book, with most of the reverse routing options available:

Delta doesn’t publish an award chart, so there’s no telling just exactly how discounted these award sale fares actually are. However, if you’re thinking about taking a trip to or from New York and have the SkyMiles to spend, this could be a great deal. Even if you’re not flying to one of the listed cities, it could be worth checking to see if it’s eligible for a discounted award ticket.

If you don’t have enough SkyMiles in your account, consider applying for one of the Delta SkyMiles credit cards from American Express to ensure you’re able to take advantage of an offer like this next time one pops up. For example, the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express comes with a welcome offer of 30,000 SkyMiles after you spend $1,000 in the first three months and a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your card within the first three months. You’ll earn 2 miles per dollar on Delta purchases and 1 mile per dollar on everything else. You’ll earn 2 miles per dollar on Delta purchases and 1 mile per dollar on everything else.
