Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

If you've been searching for your inner viking, now's the time to book a trip to Scandinavia. We're seeing some stellar round-trip fares from the US to Copenhagen (CPH) and Stockholm (ARN) on a variety of carriers. The cheapest flights depart from East Coast cities like Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK), though there are some cheap fares from Los Angeles (LAX) as well. The best part of these fares is that they're on full-service airlines — you won't have to dish out extra cash to bring your checked bags with you.

The cheap fares are available generally from September 2017 through March 2018, though the cheapest ones are found mostly from November through December 2017. As always, use Google Flights to find the dates that work best for you, and then complete booking through the airlines or through an OTA like Expedia or Orbitz.
